Mark LaPointe: Musician - Singer/Songwriter - Artist
Mark was born and raised in the town of Amesbury, Massachusetts. He began playing the drums at age of 7 and by age 12 was well on his way. He recalls, “I had my first paying gig at the age of 12. I was a last-minute fill-in for a drummer in a local wedding band. We were in this smoky old VFW Hall on a Sunday afternoon. I held my own with the “old pros” and walked out of there with $50 in my pocket. Needless to say, I was hooked!”
Mark turned his attention to the guitar during the early 1990’s primarily as a song-writing tool. As a singer/songwriter, he has performed in venues throughout New England, Tennessee, and the midwest. He has shared the stage with Livingston Taylor, Don Schlitz, Mark Stewart, and Steve Seskin, Tim Grimm and Leon Russell. He continues to be an invited performer at the world-renowned Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, and his style has been compared to James Taylor, David Wilcox and Skip Ewing.
I find inspiration all around me. I find that life experiences are best expressed in Music and that my soul speaks best in this language.
